Now your Regional Monthly Pass is available on the Compass Card—San Diego’s new
smart card for transit! As part of the Compass Card introduction, your Compass Card is free (a
$5 value—while supplies last).
The Compass Card is reusable, reloadable and it offers new flexible pass choices. When you first
purchase your Compass Card, it will be a calendar monthly pass. From then on, you can reload your
card as either a calendar monthly pass or a 30-day pass.
- Calendar monthly passes are valid from the first to the last day of the month.
- 30-day passes can be reloaded on any day of the month to receive 30 consecutive days of riding

Easy to reload your compass card

Description: For persons 6 through 18 years only. Proper photo
identification (MTS Youth Picture ID Card, current high school student picture ID;
or drivers license) required to ride the MTS system with this pass. You may add your
photo to the Compass Card and that can serve as your identification for transit
discount passes.
For stated month unlimited riding on all regular Metropolitan Transit System (MTS)
and North County Transit District (NCTD) BREEZE buses, and the Trolley/SPRINTER. Valid
on San Diego County Rural Routes with a $1.00 cash upgrade. Cash upgrade required on
COASTER. Not valid on special service buses or ADA Complementary Paratransit Service.
Pass must be retained by user during trip and shown upon request. No transfers issued
with pass use. Issuer not responsible for lost or stolen passes. Improper use may result
in confiscation and/or legal action. MTS and NCTD reserve the right to replace/confiscate
pass at any time. Willful damage of equipment will result in the confiscation of the pass.
The pass is not transferable. Not for resale. No refunds. Fare prices
subject to change.
