SANDAG is rolling out the new transit “smart card.” The Compass Card is the new transit pass for bus, Trolley, COASTER, and SPRINTER trips – simply Tap and Ride!

The Compass Card is reusable and reloadable. It simplifies taking transit by creating an easy, universal way to pay for passes and fares. All paper monthly transit passes will be replaced by the Compass Card.

Now you can get your COASTER, Premium Express Bus, and Regional Monthly passes on the Compass Card. Please check back for updated information and for other passes that will be available on the new Compass Card!

Easy to Reload your Compass Card

• Use a Ticket Vending Machine at any transit station
• Go to the MTS Transit Store or a NCTD Customer Service Center
• Reload on this site
• For automatic reload call 511 and say “Compass” to speak to a customer service center representative; you can automate your monthly pass payments with your credit or debit card
• At select Vons locations
